Phil Finley showed up this past Saturday ready to take the Boomeragnar team to the next level, leaving behind the gutsy sprints of 5K races to enter the more challenging, nothing less than the extended anguish of a 10K race. While caught here racing with teammate Dean Trevelino, Finley showed up as the lone wolf at the Run the River in Roswell, Georgia. Trevelino opted for the 5K at Sprint for Cancer, salvaging a 1st Place in the Masters 45-49.
It was Finley who shined however at the 10K, turning in an impressive 41:06 for the Masters Overall Winner. As the team enters May, only four and a half months remain before they must tackle the 190 mile trek from San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge to the natural springs mecca of Calistoga, California. With weekly training hitting 30+ miles, look for the Boomeragnar team to move from 10Ks to Half Marathon ventures.
